Chocolate Cake with Chocolate glaze

A chocolate cake that is simple to make, light in texture, and tastes super chocolatey. It is a perfect chocolate cake to serve with ice cream.

Serves 12


2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cups cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoons salt
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup 2% milk
1/2 melted butter
2/3 cup boiling water

Preheat oven to 350° F. 

Mix all dry ingredients together in one bowl.  

Mix all wet ingredients together in another bowl, except boiling water 

Pour dry ingredients into wet ingredients along with boiling water and stir until just combined. 

Pour into a 13×9-inch lightly greased baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Chocolate glaze:

1/4 cup icing sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
2 tablespoon 2% milk 

In a small bowl, whisk together icing sugar, cocoa, and milk. Let cake cool slightly and pour glaze over, spreading it thinly to cover the cake. 

Serve with ice cream.
